Alfie's Mom's Visit

Alfie's mom, Brenda, was here for a visit this past week. We had lots of fun taking her to our usual places - Izzy's Ice Cream, Conny's Creamy Cone, Coldstone Creamery... (Do you sense a theme?!) We had a bunch of church friends and Elin over for burgers and Buzzword. One morning we went to Como and enjoyed the Victoria Water Platters you see in this picture.

My mom came along to another one of our favorite places, the Pine Tree Apple Orchard. We've been telling Brenda for so long about the apple doughnuts that this was a must for her autumn visit. We took a little walk in the orchard too.

For a birthday present, Alfie's mom got us a birdfeeder for the new bird feeding post Alfie built in our front yard. It's the green/clear tube feeder in the picture. We have had lots of chickadees and nuthatches at it already.

There have been some other visitors to the bird feeders lately too...

Time for some squirrel baffles!

We drove up to Duluth one day to meet up with Joel and Renee, and we spent part of the day at a really fun playground.

Alfie got a picture of Josh coming down the slide once he finally did it! Rachel and I found a pink rock that she really liked because it went with her shirt, and we had fun going down a little tube slide, too. Brenda spent some time with Madelynn.

We spent some time on the shore of Lake Superior in Canal Park before heading home. Someday we'll go there again with Brenda to do the Canal Park shops. We did get into a couple, and she found musical note pajamas for me. The shirt has a treble clef on it and says "Nothing but Treble" - it's really cute!

Dottie did really well having Alfie's mom stay with us for the week, and she's loving the birthday present...
