Apple Doughnuts

Some of you know how I feel about apple doughnuts. Mmmm.... Yesterday was our favorite apple orchard's opening day, so my apple doughnut craving has finally been relieved. No apples yet - late spring, late apples.

We got a letter from the vet in the mail last week announcing that the staff has selected Dottie for September's Pet of the Month! Yay Dottie! So we get to answer some biographical questions about her and send them a photo, which will all be made into a little Dottie display that hangs in the waiting area for September. And she gets a free bag of treats. :)

Today we made an attempt to go canoeing at the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes (Lake Calhoun, Lake of the Isles, Cedar Lake, and Brownie Lake), but the line at the rentals stand was so long we decided to take a walk instead. Overall it was a nice walk, despite the busy crowds of Lake Calhoun. Had we had a bucket or something we would have built a sandcastle... that's been on our list of things we need to do together for a long time.

Yesterday we went to Como and visited the butterfly exhibit again before it's over. On the way there our car got hit by a golf ball! I saw it bouncing in front of the vehicle in front of us, and it bounced over them, hit the ground in front of us, and bounced off our windshield. It didn't do any damage to Nora (our car), but it was still a strange experience.
