A rabbi, a church secretary, and an impatient man were all standing in line at the Post Office. Sounds like the beginning of a joke, doesn't it? It was my reality today as I waited to buy $172 worth of stamps for work. In other news, Alfie and I saw a squirrel fall out of a tree the other day! It was going after something at the ends of the branches, and decided to jump from the tip of a branch on one tree to the tip of a branch on the next tree. It didn't go so well. There was flailing, a surprisingly pronounced "thud" in the grass, and then one very embarrassed squirrel who ran away only to peak around the tree to see who had been watching.
Alfie got to see Joel over the weekend while he was in town for a conference. That was nice. They're planning for a hiking trip in October together one weekend.

Chuckle, chuckle ... good joke!
Yeah, I finally figured out where to go hiking Alfie. It'll be either 19 or 25 miles depending on how old and out of shape we're feeling. Lutsen ski hill to Cascade State park. We'll talk this week. Love Joel.
