The "before" picture. (You can click on the pictures to see them bigger.)

Alfie laid out a plan and put in stakes.
There's somebody at the bird feeder and a bunny in this picture, too.

Alfie and the cedar!! (Yay for not rotting, but I was temporarily allergic to the garage. The cedar smell is dissipating now.)

There is going to be a removable fence part that will slide into these slots.

Hole digger... getting ready to put in posts!

Alfie used a water level to get the posts just right before cementing.

Finally digging the beds! We have some existing black dirt, especially where a previous garden was, then a thick layer of clay, and then sand. We're remixing for better drainage, and getting more black dirt (hopefully this weekend!).

Well, we found the post for the clothesline, cut off down in the ground by a previous owner. It had been cemented in. These people were not kidding about their clothesline staying put. But now it needed to come out!! So Alfie hooked it up to the company truck to pull it out, and this is me standing in the hole it left behind.

We're laying chicken wire under the garden to keep the rodents from digging their way in. The sod we took off the top is getting put in upside down on the bottom.

Behold, the reason for the fences and chicken wire. But he's such a cute little baby bunny right now... :)

Your bunny is very cute and to bad he couldn't become a pet. Talk to you tonight or tomorrow when we've landed in AB. Love you

The garden looks awesome! Great idea about the chicken wire, we may have to do something like that. Jakin, Cherish and Liberty loved the baby bunny picture (of course they think we should get one, but that isn't going to happen) ttfn
