Moving In

It has been a crazy few days! Thursday and Friday we moved lots of boxes. Alfie was carrying boxes into the house at about 9 p.m. one night and our neighbor across the street, Paul, came to introduce himself and offer us his box dolly. That really expedited things. Thursday night was appliance night - we got an electric range, dishwasher, and range hood / microwave from someone on Craigslist. Between early Sunday morning and last night Alfie got the range hooked up. I'm excited about cooking our first meal with it tonight!

Saturday was the painting party. We had Fofana, Skohn, and Mandy and Justin helping us, and it went well. The new colors look great! Fofana said he is jealous of the green we used in our bedroom. We started at 10 in the morning, got Chinese takeout for lunch, and finished up in the afternoon.

Sunday was furniture moving day. Originally we were going to wait until the weekend after the painting party to move furniture, but that would have been Easter weekend... And we didn't want to wait too much longer than that. So, early last week we realized we should try to move furniture right away and I started organizing people. We had people from our church and from the church where I work, and between them we had enough trucks and vans to take it all in one trip. We were done before dinner time, but some people stayed and we got pizzas.
